Blatant copy of the Tissot PRX

I see where you’re coming from, but I think this is a bit of an uninformed take. In fairness, here’s an ad from 1970 - same 12 sided bezel and same case shape. There’s a lot of history to the overall design. While the dial pattern looks a bit like the Royal Oak from a distance, it’s actually entirely different when you look up close.

Yeah, it’s an unwinnable debate. Im glad it exists but it wouldn’t be where I put my money.
For me, it all comes down to cohesiveness of design. There were integrated bracelet watches back to like the ‘30s if I remember correctly, but it was the RO and the Nautilus that combined all the elements in a seamless fashion, followed closely by the Ingenieur and VC 222.
It takes some real work to do an integrated bracelet that feels cohesive without being derivative, and even then you can stray into some uncomfortable territory. The Moser Streamliner is a thing of unique beauty but it’s got that oddball Moser design flare. I think the Czapek Antarctique is the closest thing I’ve seen, which is why I plunked my
money down for one of those. RIP my bank account 🪦, especially after just getting an Overseas as well, haha. C’est la vie!

I love it and love what Zenith has been doing recently. 👏 to them for making a fun, sporty watch that is actually accessible and (comparatively) affordable.
I feel like a lot of those who are attacking Zenith for this being similar to a Nautilus or RO have also never held either one in their own hands, nor will they ever be able to get one. I’ll certainly never be able to own one. You’re weirdly being held hostage to a design aesthetic that you think exclusively belongs to certain brands.
Ultimately Zenith is a business and I think this is an extremely smart and strategic play. It’s got me seriously considering purchasing one.

Need to see that subdial in action, thing must cruise
And yet... I like it. I'll never get my hands on an AP retail so that may be why 😂

I don’t understand using a 36k movement on a small seconds? Let me see the clean sweep with a center seconds!
When I praise Oris for being an independent, avoiding these (seeming) types of corporate driven decisions is a big component.

Oh really? That’s actually kinda cool. Not super useful, but pretty, so I guess it’s totally belonging on a luxury watch.

In this price range its more of a Laureato competitor - still prefer the GP
Wow I wasn’t expecting this but I guess zenith is trying get some quick money because it’s available on the zenith website. It’s also about a third of the cost of an ap at msrp and I’m sure plenty of people will buy it as an alternative

Yup. They copied the Daytona too. They are definitely more focused on making money than they are about pleasing the purist crowd. Makes sense, since they’re part of the LVMH group. Zenith was always the shining star (no pun intended) amongst Tag and Hublot, but now I fear they may just get pulled apart by trying to collect every penny from every corner of the watch world.

Here’s a macro of the dial texture - it’s the four pointed Zenith logo that was introduced in 1969

It clashes with the 5-point logo imo
