I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Bain & Company Would you be ok to move out of strategy consulting while keeping the current TC in similar ballpark (~$200k) and improving WLB?

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

YOU ARE A STAR, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
Do not allow Tim Ryan and his fetish with the bottom line make you think otherwise.
One more tip: file for UNEMPLOYMENT ASAP. It takes a few weeks to start and won’t keep you whole, but definitely takes the edge off. Your employers have all paid into unemployment funds/insurance on your behalf every paycheck. This is exactly what the money is for.
If you quit usually no, there has to be a pretty good reason to get that overturn.
Also, OP, this is just one more job. You will recover, it’s happened to me and happened to a number of other people who have gone on to e extremely successful. It is not a reflection of your worth or your potential. Use it as an opportunity to recharge and take a big swing at a fresh start.
Absolutely agree with D2. I know you’re feeling down and doubting yourself...but don’t. You’ll bounce back.
I got made redundant 5 years ago. I was in shock and took it personally. Went to South America to mull over my options, took time to grieve what happened, and then planned my next move.
Probably a blessing in disguise - you’ll land on your feet.
On a Saturday?
Sorry to hear, OP - let me know if you’re interested in any roles at KPMG, more than happy to refer you and help you in any other way possible
OP - getting laid off from PwC was the best thing to ever happen to me. Increased my comp by a lot, have better work-life balance, enjoy my job more, travel less, and have wonderful colleagues who aren’t assholes (*not all my PwC colleagues were assholes - but several were and I was happy to go because of them.). Understand that it’s jarring and hard - but try and see the opportunity in disguise to figure out what’s next for you.
Who moved my cheese 🧀.
Found this and thought I’d share: https://youtu.be/Txy6DwbwZ9g
My wife got laid off from PwC unexpectedly a few years back. She's at Accenture now, making 20k more than she would have had she stayed, blessing in disguise.
I'd be happy to refer you to Accenture if you're looking to stay in consulting
Happened to me 4ish months ago. I negotiated a large severance and am still taking time off.
I plan to start looking in earnest in January.
I’m negotiating this shit tomorrow
Hello P1 - happy to refer you at EY. Please inbox if interested
https://joinfishbowl.com/post_ighb6 hey OP. I made this thread a month ago. A couple weeks after I posted this, I received an offer that gave me a promotion and am making 50k more. (I had been interviewing months in advance though).
In this thread, you will read many people who overcame getting fired or laid off in different ways and received better opportunities. You’re not alone. And it’ll get better from here.
Yesterday, but still can’t believe it
Sorry to hear that, OP.
Been laid off twice before my PwC career and am a high performer at the firm. Simply put, it happens. Prospective employers treat layoffs very different than firings, so you should be in good shape. Embrace the adversity, and if you feel like you didn’t deserve to be let go, then prove the firm wrong in your next role. Good luck to you.
What is the difference?
The amount of support in this thread is so heart warming. I wish you the best OP and hope you find a new better and more satisfying job!!
Sorry to hear that OP! It is stressful but remember no one can take away your strengths and always see how far you have come. Be strong and you will get out of it in no time 💪❤️
Ugh, sorry to hear that
Severance?
PwC laid you off? Why? We are bleeding people. What market?
