Please advise!!! Partner on my project did me a huge favour by pulling some strings to get me an off cycle comp revision In Feb. Now I have an offer from outside, it's still at least 20 percent higher than revised comp. Any advice on what I should do, if I leave would it burn bridges, would the partner take it professionally? FYI, Next comp revision in Deloitte will be in June, and I don't anticipate that to be more than 5%.
Been living in NY the past 3 years at an agency. Im interviewing for a role in LA and excited/nervous. Felt like I didn’t really get to experience NYC because of the pandemic and now I might be leaving. Good opportunity, but have never been lived in the west coast and not sure how to decide. Advice ? Anyone going through it too?
I have a question about 1099-NECs (Nonemployee compensation). Question continued in a comment in this post.
When negotiating a salary for a new job, typically you negotiate total compensation which includes bonus. Do the offers usually indicate bonus percentages or do we just trust that it will be around what we discussed?
TFW you realize you need to take PTO at engagement end to take stuff to your parents' house for storage since your new apartment won't fit it all.
Deloitte Advisory Senior Consultants, have you received the individual meeting invitation with a PPD regarding your compensation?
Interviewing for a Senior Consultant role at Deloitte for a role in Risk and Financial Advisory - Controllership. Seems to be mostly accounting/finance transformation work. I’m currently making 100k base at EY as a a senior 2. What should i ask for?
$30/hr 1099 is a joke for a certified Admin, even one in the midwest with no experience right? I'm coaching someone changing careers with a master's (not MBA) who was offered this rate.
Where’s my sober as friends? Tough day yesterday. Bad client review made worse by internal interactions. So happy to have a program of sobriety and people to talk to, to keep my brain from fabricating it into a disaster. Back to the drawing board. Hope y’all are doing well.
Advertising supports the arts! Many performers of all sorts are hosting New Year’s eve online or zoom-y celebrations for really nominal $ amounts. Broadway singers, local musicians and everyone in between. Why not buy a ticket and add to your NYE at home fun? Or just buy a ticket anyway whether you join or not? Support our artists and performers. I’ll post a few but add anything you know of that supports the Arts community. Simone Golob/Getty Images:
What an artful lesson on making a deal!
This consulting grind is getting old. What would it take to change the entire consulting culture?
Hi fishbowl! I’m writing copy to get a brand off the ground for a client. How should I price a copy style guide/tagline/mission statement? Hourly or flat rate? Fresh out of college and unsure! Thanks
I’ve noticed a few McKinsey folks in my network go from analyst to EM in 3 years. Is this a relatively common thing now, or are these outliers? Is career progression similarly sped up now post-MBA? I recognize that COVID may have shaken things up, these are observations over the last year or so.
Trump admin rolls back LGBTQ+ protection from discrimination in health care/health insurance based on sex and gender. What happened to All Lives Matter?
Would anyone working in Huron be able to give me a referral for a rev cycle position? I have 2.5 years background experience within rev cycle at a hospital and currently trying to break into healthcare consulting.
I’m relatively new to freelancing, but was lucky enough to sell in a video shoot and travel to be there on set. How do you handle billing hours and expenses in this scenario as a freelancer? Obviously I’ll bill any hours working on the project, time on set and expense my travel. Do you bill extra for the billable hours you lost during travel?
I’ve been hanging with a coworker and their significant other a lot lately and I’m starting to get a crush on my coworker’s partner...and I think it might be mutual bc there’s a slight sensual tension whenever it’s just the two of us talking I left out gender on purpose just in case my coworker is on here lmao
Hi ladies, I have 10yrs of experience (4 in management consulting) and am interviewing for my first manager role in industry. This role is something I have a lot of expertise in but I look quite young. Please share any advice for managerial position interviews. Thank you advance 🙏

Anyone have any idea of what the salary will be for Entry level EY Technology Consultant in Chicago & Detroit area?
Regular tips and strategies to keep meeting facilitation fresh? I host a lot of meetings every week with my teams and I’d love a way to keep up on new ways to engage people (mostly over zoom). Any great orgs or circles that share this kind of content?
How much does YOE matter? 3 YOE out of undergrad and I just got the manager promotion at a B4 consulting shop (FB hasn’t updated companies but I used to be at D 😅) Will my lack of experience hurt me when I’m looking for exit ops (ideally to tech)?
I am looking into joining a seed stage startup that's been around for 1 year. I have 13 years of experience and am currently a senior people manager making $470k per year (salary plus equity). The salary for the startup job would be about 1/3 of my total comp. What is a reasonable equity percentage to ask for?
Currently on PIP but have to take vacations for two and half weeks due to family issues. I’m worried if I’ll give a bad impression and fail my pip because of my vacation days. What should I do?
I will be let go within 6 months due to my cost aka salary. I’ve generated untold amounts of revenue and profit in my tenure. It’s frustrating I’ll take a pay cut and work in TV instead.

Anyone ever used an employment offer from a client you’re currently on to renegotiate salary or not worth the effort?
Is it possible to get laid off 1yr in from an MBB and get hired by another? What’s the story to tell?
Anyone know of non-consulting companies with good PTO benefits right off the bat? I currently get 5 weeks, but most companies seem to be at 2-3 weeks, with opp to earn more with 5-10 years of service.
My parents have recently entered the US with green-card. I was wondering which health insurance works for them. I heard about Obamacare (and tax credit plans). Does anyone have any time idea?
Any expats currently working with Chinese firms/companies? How's the culture and experience been? Any tips to share when joining?
