Why is it that most people recommend to max Roth IRA before Roth 401(k) (beyond the match)? Since expense ratios in a 401(k) are so low I would think Roth IRA should only come after $19,500 is in 401k

I understand that the offer letter should take a week. But to initiate a resignation, I need an offer letter. If I don't initiate a resignation, I may be aligned to another project in a day or two, and I would like to avoid such an event. I got the confirmation for shortlisting last Monday, and even the negotiation has been done 6 days back, but I have not received the offer letter yet. What should I do? Please guide

Today (day 99 with my employer) I was put on a performance improvement plan. Such a shit show of a company! After the offer, and before my start date the company reorganized the department… new boss and department reporting structure. Too late for me to renegotiate, and my job at my former employer was not a fallback option. On day 3 one of the only long term employees in the department accepted a different job.
