2 years ago, right at the end of my mat leave, my husband was laid off and we decided to transition to a single income household. Since then, he’s been an amazing stay at home dad. But since he’s been looking for a job, the past 6 months, unfortunately the gap in his resume appears to be really hurting his odds to get back into the workforce.

I have noticed that other minority bowls (based on ethnicity) often have posts about racism they faced and how they are lagging behind because they belong to a certain group. I don’t want to debate on that here. What I want to ask is that I have rarely seen such posts about racism in this bowl. Is it because we don’t face it as much as some of the other races do? Or is there just lesser awareness about reporting it? Or something else? Hoping for constructive discussion.

I’ve been unsustainably swamped for months. Partner said they wanted to add an additional, more senior associate to the team on one massive case that went from “stayed” to “on fire” in the span of a month. I said that sounded awesome and the thought of someone else having to take on some responsibilities was such a relief… so why do I feel competitive and threatened now that the senior associate has actually been added? 🙄
