Why would you want to build your entire life around work…
Also LP is like maybe 20 min commute lol
It’s even shorter if your ride your bike
Alta @ K Station

Well it’s also a central area, easy to get anywhere from it, direct access to lakefront, close to river, shopping etc

And which building do you recommend for a balance between not super expensive but still good? The aqua seems a little expensive at $3000+ for a 1 bedroom

May as well give it a go
I lived in this area for several years before moving to LP and it was great. Really liked LP but missed the convenience of LSE and the ability to walk to work and to so many things + easy access to all of the train lines. If you want a more affordable building and aren’t needing super fancy amenities - Columbus Plaza is a great choice. There’s a gym and some common areas + direct pedway access (you could walk to the Aon building without going outside), but no pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. just more basic. Views are great on the river side as well. Otherwise, the options others mentioned coast, aqua, Shoreham are nice just pricier. I also had friends in Park Millennium (condo rentals I believe), Millennium Park Plaza (a lot of Booth MBA students here and less nice than Columbus Plaza + louder being right on Michigan, but potentially the best price unless something has changed).
Someone else mentioned Streeterville which is a good option for sure, but do not underestimate how cold it is walking across the Columbus or Michigan bridges in the winter!
How do you feel about Boothies?
