Sweaters 😂 you poor sweet summer child
🤷🏻♂️😅
Joking aside: a coat for 30-45 degrees, a warmer coat for 20-30 degrees, an extremely warm coat for under 20 degrees. Warm scarves, gloves, and hats. Thicker pants to wear to work/out in the winter so your legs don’t get cold. Boots that can hold up to/get ruined by salt
Macys for more affordable options (and they have sales often)
Waterproof boots, uggs or similar will soak through in the snow even if you spray them with protectant. Think Sorels, Merrills, permanently lined wellies (usually I find the insert kind not warm enough). Your warmest coat should come at least to your knees and be appropriately temp rated - you’ll see everyone in knee or calf-length down/quilted puffy coats in Jan/Feb. A winter hat that covers all the way over your ears (and think about headphone use if you commute with them - AirPods fit fine but I can’t use my Bose earbuds in winter bc they stick out). Gloves that have a touchscreen finger, or fold-back flap so you don’t have to take whole glove off to check your phone. honestly if you have good outerwear you don’t always need a heavy sweater. I sweat too much under coats in huge sweaters so I wear normal lightweight or merino wool sweaters or I layer. (Can you tell I’ve lived most of life in cold weather climates? Ha!)
Thank you!
I like to carry a clear bubble umbrella for the wet snow days. They won’t blow inside out and you can see where you’re going.
A Glock, just in case you’re out getting Subway in the early morning hours in the heart of MAGA country
Chicago is MAGA Country now?
WTF are you talking about 😂😂😂😂😂
Parka, touch screen gloves, wool socks, Sorel boots, thermal layers to put under jeans or sweaters! Winter can be wonderful if you prepare properly, welcome to Chicago :)
