53 yo w 31 years in the software development industry with 15 years of management. I’m finding that I am not qualified for the roles of principal consultant or web developer manager. Those roles seem to be reserved for people with 3-5 years experience. I feel like I’m in the upside down.

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.
