Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. Just started a new role in industry 2 months ago and my manager sent me a long email today saying he is not happy with my performance and is not at par with my level. He also pointed out list of instances when my submissions were late. Some of the things I agree but not all. Should I reply back or talk about it on our one on one and what to respond. They might be building a case to let me go.

A coworker asked me to do something, I should have questioned it but did it because I trusted their seniority. I got called out for it by our boss on an email. Should I say something? Standard office desk chair will feel out of place with surrounding decor, but more design-oriented options are basically dining chairs that will kill my back with 12-14 hour days. Help!
