Be happy whatever you are getting
Well said, we should always be grateful.
Bro dont chase high salary be in middle and start small business, I have started one library, took one hostel on lease and started one cold press oil mill and last month net profit is 7 lakhs. So be mid at work start doing business in small tier 2 or tier 3.
In small cities library trends are very common nowadays. Even you can find libraries with 10-20 seating capacity. In my library we have around 80 seats and people can book a seat for ₹800 per month for 3 hours. If they want to occupy the same seat for the whole day it is around ₹1600 per month. Library timings are up to 12 hours. Approximately we get around 250-300 registrations per month and the numbers are increasing because there are a good number of hostels and 24-hour fast food stalls nearby. We also have a printing machine, stationery items, 4-5 computer systems, a large TV for entertainment, a water cooler, internet and other facilities.
The hostel I took on lease from my neighbour has around 20 rooms. Previously he used to rent it directly to students who lived in sharing but later he decided to give it on lease so we converted it into a proper hostel like those in metro cities. We created a kitchen, a common area, installed washing machines on each floor and arranged food service. Each room accommodates 3 students. Food costs around ₹4000 per month per student and we charge ₹3000 per bed. Since there are 3 beds in each room the owner gets around ₹8000 per room. Monthly maintenance expenses like water tank cleaning and repairs are shared by both of us.
For the oil mill my village has a good amount of mustard farming so I installed a mustard oil mill. I took a loan under a government scheme and got a good subsidy. For now we purchased one machine and also installed an atta chakki. We hired one village person for inventory management and another for operating the machine. From there we supply oil to the nearest mandi where local brands do white labelling and sell it under their own names. We also sell the mustard cake and other by-products to farmers and dairy owners as feed for buffaloes and cattle which creates another source of income.
Till date I have invested around ₹30 lakhs. Library construction cost was around ₹7 lakhs as the land was already ours. Hostel kitchen setup and other facilities cost around ₹5 lakhs. Oil mill setup including machine installation and raw materials cost around ₹12 lakhs. During this journey I found that in Tier 2, Tier 3 cities and villages it is much easier to start a business. In Tier 1 cities it is not even possible to start many businesses without investing crores because costs and competition are very high.
For prerequisites, don't put all your money into a single bucket. Start with safer businesses.
In my area, there are already many libraries running successfully, so the chances of failure are quite low. That's one of the main reasons I invested in a library.
Also, in India, a large number of students live in hostels or shared rooms where they don't have a proper space to study. Because of this, many students prefer joining libraries for a peaceful reading environment.
The cold-pressed oil business idea came from my father. He lives in the village and is happy to monitor and manage the operations. He is honest, hardworking, and never creates unnecessary issues. He genuinely enjoys working and maintaining such businesses. At last sorry for my bad english. Hope this will be helpful.
