I like working remotely but I'm starting to be concerned that am a little isolated. I'm 100% remote and I live alone. I'm not the biggest people person but this much alone time probably isn't healthy. Does anyone else every feel like this?

Started my new job today! I’m joining a late stage startup coming from a more mature company, and am noticing a lotttt of documentation debt. I’m coming in as Staff/Lead, and want to eventually move into management in 1-4 years. If I spend some of my first two week block updating and creating documentation for future devs, will that be seen as working hard or wasting time? It feels like a good use of my time to me….

What holiday party did you get?
Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight. Our remote workers got a one hour party w a DJ and trivia that let you win gift cards. Yeah it was nice to win a gift card but I found it lame in comparison to hanging out with my team in real life.

My company is fully remote in the US and is in general supportive of me going but concerned about local and international tax liability. Remote year doesn’t share tax advice and our HR team is small. Curious to hear from people at companies who have done it before and if there were any issues from a tax or payroll perspective.
