Unfortunately, I am probably a bad example. I had been working in AML for awhile, studied for two weeks and passed. Test was still tough though. I think the average amount of time is about 6 weeks to 4 months depending on how much time you can dedicate while still working. Focus on the Compliance and investigation sections

like

RSM 1 would you mind sharing how long did the testing process took you from the beginning till the end? And what is your study habit, ex: working while studying or strictly studying? Thank you!

Certified and definitely worth getting if it is the field you are trying to work in or are already participating in. It is definitely a certification that is viewed highly in the industry. The test is not easy though, so definitely study

If you plan on staying in AML or breaking into it, I highly recommend getting it, as employers and clients like seeing it as a credential. I found going through the study guide (and of course, industry experience) to be the most beneficial for the exam. I personally found the online class to be a waste, as it just has the study guide in PowerPoint format.

I have it. Basically just listened to the provided audiobook. All memorization really.

If you have worked on any AML engagement for 3-6 months you will ace the exam with a week of preparation. Exam is super simple I breeze through it in less than 50% of the time allocated. Companies like the CAMS credential though to be honest exam material is very basic doesn’t add much to your knowledge.

Any in-house antitrust counsel willing to offer up some advice? I just started in a firm's well-regarded antitrust group. What do I do over the next few years to make myself most marketable to move in-house? And when is that move actually feasible/ideal for antitrust specialists?

Seems like I can pull work from the whole discipline (merger clearance, civil lit, criminal) — should I spread myself across all of it to maximize my skillset/marketability?

All thoughts and advice welcome. TYSM :)

I’m an FA at ML, been in the role for 1 year and 8 months, but have 23 years of industry experience. Quarterly, I have a performance review call with my Market Executive and until today never heard anything negative… my growth is slower than I’d like and definitely I’m sure that’s why, but today he said last time “they” wanted to give me a letter of education and he talked “them” out of it. First of all, who is “they” / “them” and what would the letter of education be for? Any thoughts?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
