A boutique headhunter told me that listing my CPA exam sections passed (3/4) makes me look like a flight risk to mid-sized industry firms. Her logic was that the second I get those final three letters, I'll demand a massive raise or jump to a Fortune 500 that pays a true CPA premium. I thought showing progress proved my work ethic, but now I'm wondering if I should just hide it until I'm fully licensed. How do/did you all hanle that?

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

Will have the final around of interviews for an industry direct tax role soon and going to meet people from other teams (payroll, accounting, indirect tax etc). How should I prep for interviews like this? What qualities do people who work cross-functionally with tax look for in a tax candidate?

This is the 2nd company that rejected me after the 2nd round of interviews. Latest one left a bitter taste as I felt I was doing good during the interview process and felt I was really a good fit. On to the next one.

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. I am financially secure (husband now has a high earning job) and looking at what options for "moon shots" at chances of real wealth generation with my years in Big 4 (10+). Month to month cash flow isn't a concern anymore so i can focus on opportunities for bigger pay days. Ideas from the hive mind?
