A boutique headhunter told me that listing my CPA exam sections passed (3/4) makes me look like a flight risk to mid-sized industry firms. Her logic was that the second I get those final three letters, I'll demand a massive raise or jump to a Fortune 500 that pays a true CPA premium. I thought showing progress proved my work ethic, but now I'm wondering if I should just hide it until I'm fully licensed. How do/did you all hanle that?

Nah. Put something on your resume that indicates you're currently pursuing CPA licensure.

That sounds like a recruiter who is not looking out for your interests. I would absolutely include that because to a lot of firms it’s important to understand where you’re at in the process at that you’re actually on the desired path to designation

I agree with the headhunter but only for small/boutique firms. The larger firms would prefer parts passed over none

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
