A challenging climate for sure but if you can rise above the uncertainty, there can be a lot of positives in serving the public.

I agree there's gratification in serving the public. This year has taught us, however, that public service is not universally respected, and a big chunk of the public actually wants to see public servants put out of work. Or as the current head of OMB put it, public servants should be put "in trauma." What a world.

How many plaintiff depos have you taken?
Practice area?
Size firm (if applicable)?
Years of practice?

I’m part of our firm’s professional development group and the junior associates have been pushing for a depo skills workshop. Someone suggested senior associates help put it together, which was ironic coming from a partner who never allows seniors the opportunity to take depos. Anyway, hoping to get a sense of whether we’re on par before meeting with the practice group chairs.

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.

I currently work in Private (GA) Aviation & have for some time (about 12 years) I’m currently making the switch to the Department of Aviation and am unsure if I should ditch my current job (in private) and go full force with the DOA & embrace this new opportunity educationally and gather as much experience as I can or keep both jobs even though I’d be working 80hr weeks.. I love the private world but am really ready to move up. I don’t know what I should do. Any suggestions?
