My supervisor gave me 8hours of AWOL because I couldn't show up one day because I was under anxiety. I have gave him letters from psychiatrist, psychologist that I'm passing through this. He didn't care and gave me an AWOL. I want to leave my job because my department is very toxic but I don't want to leave having that on my records.
If I move to another job later on (private or federal) this 8 hours of AWOL will show up?

I don’t see it unless I would have a reason to go look and truthfully if you came with decent references i wouldn’t waste my time looking. And I definitely couldn’t see it in the system before you would transfer to my department. You might want to get fmla to cover you for these types of leave.

like

Just to echo FMLA. That’s leave, which means you’re not absent without it. But you need to check the boxes correctly to ensure you are covered.

like

Whoa, I would look into transferring into a different department and get HR involved as this is not okay, I would reconsider leaving as typically government positions are very accommodating especially when it comes to any issues

You Always have the right to provide a written response to any write ups. It shouldn’t show up. You can say you had an unexpected event occur and leave to at that. There are HIPPA laws which prevent an employer from knowing all your business. That’s why many employers are looking to use 3rd party FMLA administrators. You maybe could get FMLA now and have that incident fall under that umbrella as least it will be noted. I wish you the best. Sounds like an unreasonable boss- watch him or her!

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

Have you heard of OPM's team of strategic HR consultants? Within OPM Human Resources Solutions' HR strategy, there are strategic consultants who operate on a reimbursable basis, similar to a private sector consulting agency.

We have current, developing, and future vacancies for human capital strategists and consultants at the GS-12/13/14/15 levels!
