Lol so did he get rewarded because it went viral?? I guess that's the secret to landing a job these days is pulling a stunt and going viral?

Years ago, I used mail out thank you’s in the form of action figure packaging and painted the figures to look like a “super copywriter.” It didn’t work with everyone but I got 2 offers.
I really do think that sometimes the only thing that stands between you and success is audacity. One time, I got a job I was massively unqualified for because I wrote a funny cover letter and the CEO thought I would be a good cultural fit. You never know if you don't try!

And that’s really the point.
Haha this is awesome
I saw a couple viral posts about this and thought it was just a creative PhotoShop job. I'm still not convinced it's real as I haven't seen any major news outlet covering the story yet, but it's pretty funny either way. Loved that his initial application asked to be paid in "store credit and unreleased pairs" 😂

If I was Nike, I probably would downplay it, because it will encourage more applicants to “one-up” the other. And you know some people will take it to an extreme.
I always apply for jobs I don’t feel completely qualified for. You never know. I’ve definitely received a few jobs. I wasn’t ready for. However I have become a master at faking it till I make it. I have gained a lot of skills doing this.

I don’t know who to credit this to, but I remember someone saying, “If you can check off every box in a job application, you’re just making a lateral move.” It’s the unchecked boxes that create growth, as you’ve experienced. I don’t believe in fake it until you make it. You learned.
