How is typically life for these positions requiring travel? This is for a SWE position.
Currently work with clients is remote as stated by the recruiter. If work is currently feasible through virtual means, will there be flexibility to choose to travel for this position?

Delta is too! Flew with them recently and had a good experience. They also give wipes to all passengers to sanitize their area.
Wear a mask. Extreme social distance at all times in the airport and minimize your time in the airport. Quarantine for 2 weeks at your destination. Funny enough the plane itself is the safest part of your journey due to constant recirculation and hepa filters.
This. Flew recently on southwest and middle rows were empty / plane looked very clean. But definitely spend as little time in the airport as possible. Bring wipes and wipe everything down. Chances of contraction on plane are small but try your best not to touch your face, keep the air and your mask on (preferably n95+) the entire time
Go to the bathroom before going to the airport. Eat before going; try to limit how much water you drink beforehand. Try to never take off your mask. Ideally, only take it off for IDing at TSA. I’ve flown twice, and I still don’t have it.
1- book on whatever airline you have status on so you can make free same-day flight changes if needed
2- pick a day when you have flexibility in timing
3- book a flight that has almost no people on it based on the seat map
4- check the seat map a day out and the day of. If the flight filled up too much, change to another one that has fewer people
5- get to the airport as late as possible so you don't spend time hanging around
6- wear a mask and bring hand sanitizer :)
Yes, I would definitely recommend Delta. Took a Delta flight 3+ weeks ago, it was great. I am booked on another Delta flight for another trip next week. Just wear your mask, wash your hands often, social distance at the airport. You will be fine.
Don’t fly American - flights have been completely full. I’ve flown cross country a couple of times over the past month (for family) and haven’t gotten it yet; however I do wear N95 mask on planes. If you do fly AA, they will offer vouchers to switch to a less crowded flight
Delta is great at enforcing rules, haven't flown SW yet. Frontier (only option for return flight) was surprisingly good too. Otherwise:
Wear a good mask.
Sanitize your hands frequently.
Don't congregate around others at the airport if possible. Similarly, I wouldn't hold any conversations with the airport or on the plane.
If not a long flight, don't eat snacks til you deplane and put your mask back on between any sips of water.
