After 25 years in a secure job, I left for a better opportunity with a different health system. The job has turned out NOT to be what was promised with a negative work environment and little work-life balance. I saw the signs early on and hoped things would improve but after 2 months in it’s only worse. How much time should I realistically give it or do I cut my losses now? My old employer would take me back in a heartbeat. Do I stick it out, return to old job or find something new? Thanks

If the issue is cultural and you don't particularly anticipate it getting better, why wait? You might as well go back to somewhere you were able to stay for so long. Sometimes we take a risk and it doesn't work out and that's okay.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have been in your shoes before and I know how hard that can be. I would probably cut my losses now. It isn't worth the stress or anxiety.

Go back to your old job!!

PLEASE, go back. 25 years comes with a PEACE of mind. That's so much more...than anything you can buy. Maybe you should negotiate with you previous employers, if that's possible. Remember "Continuity of Care" is GOLDEN and PEACE. GOOD LUCK, and GOD BLESS 🙏

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $350k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

What do you do to automate you lifestyle/remove decision fatigue to reach your health and fitness goals? For example: I meal prep so I know calories and macros of all my meals without having to count each time M-F (unless going out with friends/SO) and I run first thing in the morning the same 4 days every week. I’ve found that making healthy habits a part of my lifestyle and routines makes them easier to stick to and would love any additional ideas!
