Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

Nothing worse than a toxic work environment,
Especially when management is the cause
If the issue is cultural and you don't particularly anticipate it getting better, why wait? You might as well go back to somewhere you were able to stay for so long. Sometimes we take a risk and it doesn't work out and that's okay.
I am so sorry to hear that. I have been in your shoes before and I know how hard that can be. I would probably cut my losses now. It isn't worth the stress or anxiety.
Go back to your old job!!
PLEASE, go back. 25 years comes with a PEACE of mind. That's so much more...than anything you can buy. Maybe you should negotiate with you previous employers, if that's possible. Remember "Continuity of Care" is GOLDEN and PEACE. GOOD LUCK, and GOD BLESS 🙏
"Run Forrest Run"! Get out, I tolerated a toxic job and I cut my losses and quit. If they are rolling out the welcome mat, HIT THE DOOR!
The grass is not always greener on the other side. It's okay to go back….at least you did not stayed with “ what if” you tried it you didn't like it……
