After having two full-time jobs, I wonder, how many people really work 40 hours per week? I have one super detail-oriented job, and one where I basically just have to show up. It makes justifying "full-time" hours at both feel a bit ridiculous.

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

Would you switch careers for a 2nd time? I actually like what I do now 80% of the time, and I am really hesitant to switch again after all the work that I did to get here and the stability and benefits. Currently have J1 as current employer used The work one for my BC. I looked at Equifax/ The work one to see if J2 uses that service, fortunately they don’t.

I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid.
