Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Building up on this, does someone know why many MDs in restructuring went from Alix to BCG, and now from BCG to FTI?
Old experience for me - I worked there until 2016. Long hours but better control on when to work vs. other consultancies. Still 60-65 ish hours/week. On why MDs moved to BCG, I assume it's because Partners at BCG make more than MDs at Alix. No idea about FTI. How long after they joined BCG did they go to FTI? BCG has about three years grace period for new partners who do not reach their sales targets, after which you can be bought out of partnership. May be shorter for lateral MD hires.
They moved last week, when FTI opened the new Milan office.
AlixPartners in Italy has been for years the only restructuring firm.
When McK and BCG created their turnaround service lines (RTS, TURN), they heavily poached from AP. The same did A&M when decided to scale the Italian office.
Now, BCG closed TURN in Italy (worldwide?), and Francesco Leone, the leading MD and former AP, is opening the Italian office for FTI.
Back to the original question: in Italy (and the same for France), AlixPartners is still by far the best restructuring firm to work for. All the leadership team for the competitors, anyhow, is made of former APs - so it would be just a diluted version of the same culture
Fairly comprehensive! Currently in a big4 and thinking about making the move. How would you rate wlb? Aside B4, I know MBBs are quite brutal with poor flexibility when it comes to wfh, holidays etc. would you mind expanding a bit on how it works with AP?
