Stealth layoff = you’re an ok associate but there is no business to justify keeping you around and they disguise the decision as performance based because it’s not a good look that they aren’t doing well

Can confirm, I'm a senior and for the first time ever I got vague but harsh negative statements on my review from a partner who had only minimal oversight over my work. They previously expressed they were very pleased with my work and had been very complimentary, which is why I chose them to be one of my evaluators. So yeah, def happening. I'm giving notice later this month and can't wait.

Wow..so it is happening. What are the reasons that WH and Goodwin use for these layoffs? Any common theme?
The ADMs actively take work away, I’ve been slow before and my ADM told me to not join certain matters even though I would be slow / not meet hours. It makes zero sense.

Exactly. People forget that firms fire regularly just like any other business. According to Fishbowl every termination is unfair and a stealth layoff.
Bader Law did a mass layoff and it’s not stopping anytime soon, laid off 13 people in one day.
