Hi everyone! I am an MD (pediatrician w/out fellowship) with a lot of experience in bench and clinical research, as well as 1 year of experience in early phase oncology clinical trials. I am looking to transition from a heavy clinical role to more of a role in pharmacovigilance/medical monitor/ clinical development or medical affairs.

Would love a referral to a company to get my foot in the door or further advice in maximizing my opportunities to land an interview. TIA!

Hi.. today I got a call from a company in my city for a nodeJS back-end position.
They gave an assignment as below:

Suppose u r building a movie booking application, how will u handle it when 10,000 people try to book a same seat?
What r the performance scenarios u will consider ?
(No code is required, we r expecting a design document)

I'm not able to figure out what to answer for this. I only know how to create APIs. Can anybody help me out? Also what is the topic of this type of questions?

Company (nonprofit) I am interviewing with is hosting an Open House event this weekend. I completed the interview process and was told I would hear back “in a couple weeks - after open enrollment”. I sent a Thank You email after the last interview and another email this morning, inquiring about benefits but did not receive a response.

Would it be a good idea to attend the Open House?

Hi! The organization I have been interviewing for has recently put all roles on a hiring freeze BUT decided to offer me a contract role until it lifts (ETA Q1, 2023). My question is what would be reasonable compensation (full time 40 hrs, weekly).

The role is Sr. Digital Marketing & Strategy Analyst for med device company. I have 10+ YOE with undergraduate in visual communications and masters in Information Technology. TIA

Just received my offer from Uber. Is it normal for recruiters to play hard ball when it comes to comp? I feel like what I was offered for the role was low, and he made it seem like it was non negotiable. (They don’t decide this, do they?) I’m afraid if I counter they will go for someone else but I’m just not happy with it overall.

Initial offer: Account Exec, base 45k. No sign on bonus.

I got an offer from Aptiv for $100,000 + 5% annual bonus + $2,500 signing bonus. This is a new grad role for Algorithm Engineer located in Los Angeles, CA.

I'm thinking about negotiating but I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone give me any tips? Or any feedback on how good/bad this offer is?

I am currently having thoughts about how I should advance my career, and which path I should take.

I currently am compensated about 250k TC as a Senior Staff Engineer. I am wanting to reach for double, not necessarily any time in the near future (my goal is ~5 years). I currently have 10 years of experience. I feel that I am already pretty close to the pay ceiling for my role.

Should I be shooting for Principal engineer or a Senior Manager/Director/VP seat for my goals?

Has anyone ever been promised a promotion in 6-12 months and how did you handle that?

I'm currently interviewing around and was told by my manager that they want to move me into more of a management role, but it would take 6 months to a year to get the budget approved. However, they are giving me more responsibility now, managing a team of consultant developers. Am I crazy to feel like I'm being left on a hook?

February I have been on my job 28 years. The owners up and sold the business without a notice. I am salary and have always received my salary on vacation week plus vacation pay. New owners said that’s the stupidest thing they ever heard and it will no longer be received. I’m exhausted giving a job this many years and feeling I now have to start all over. Does anyone have any advice how should I handle this. At this point I think it’s time to find another job but fear of not making as much money.

I just received my performance review and my manager recommended ~15% raise and ~20% bonus, however, management only ended up giving me a 5% raise and 14% bonus plus I am expected to considerably expand my role, but no promotion. I am a senior analyst working in structured finance at a mid/large bank working ~60 hours a week and I make $85k. Is this normal? Does anyone have any advice to negotiate the raise to at least meet inflation?

Hello, I need advice on salary negotiations at my current employer. Got offered a HR management role @ $62k a year. The average salary in SLC is $73k. Hello everyone,

I currently work at a company that I really enjoy but can no longer afford to live on the salary. I have worked in the position for almost a year. Should I ask for a raise and explain that I can’t continue to work there due to the salary or just move on and try to find another role? (I have a graduate degree and make $65,000 as a data analyst using SQL)

I have just agreed my new contract which is slightly below average salary rate but I don’t mind as I enjoy the work. However in the past year I’ve contributed a lot and done many overtime hrs every week. So this time I asked for 29 days holidays plus bank holidays. Is this too much to ask? I know this year I’ll end up doing crazy hrs which I don’t mind but in return I just want a longer holiday period.

Having an Interview this week, and don't know how high I should set my salary expectations. I currently earn 24k/annum base + comission. Would it be unreasonable to say that I have 30k + comission atm? I think it also hardly depends on the location, I am currently working from Poand but would be working for a swiss company.
Currently have about 7months exp. and thoughts on this?
Appreciate the input

Interview went well, Total 7 ppl interviewed me. I accepted offer verbally. Then I got promoted and I shared that to recruiter and my current compensation and offer are same. I shared my difficulty to recruiter as it will be a lateral move. He said he will get back to me in 1 day. Its been a week I haven't heard back.

Does anyone know how long it takes to here back from a counter on an internal promotion. My initial offer says ‘sign by end of business Monday. But if I already countered that should be sufficient?

Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?
