I replaced a 5 ton AC and the gas heater in 2022. It was about $12k. I went with a Rheem system that was higher end but not top efficiency or a variable compressor model. I did pull permits for it as well. Which cost money. Today I think theres good tax credits for heat pumps. When I did mine the cost of the heat pump was the same as AC but every company told me that I should do AC because the heat is better with gas and the compressor runs twice as much if you have a heat pump so the system doesn’t last as long.

Thanks for the insights P1
Water heater replacement will be $800-$1500 depending on the quality of what you put in. If you put in tankless it might be $2500 but will last 20 years and will be more efficient.
For reference I am renovating a house in Santa Monica. The place is a shell right now:
HVAC (includes all new ducting) if it’s just the unit will be cheaper: $39k
Plumbing: $29k
Electrical: $30k
Water Heater is included in the plumbing but its only like $1500 including the unit.
Might be more expensive to do it as my house has no walls and nothing to pull out. I did get multiple bids and these were in the middle of

Thanks for the details, this is very helpful
Oooff a lot, id say 1d say 10k for each
At least — my sister had to replace electrical in a smaller house than that and it was closer to 20k
I would definitely recommend getting multiple quotes from different contractors. Now sure fishbowl will give you accurate estimates on something like this.

Just tyring to gauge ballpark.
I’d say 12-15k depending on the company you use. The HVAC might be the most expensive. Plumbing depends on if you have solid concrete foundation or a crawl space
HVAC could easily be $15-25K
