Answer not specific to OP but what I posted regarding comp in general at A&M in different thread. Also if your friend had 6 YoE RX experience I think he'd be able to go for Director level
Can't say how comp compares to other shops but very realistic to get more than 100% of base as bonus in A&M for restructuring. It's based on total collections for the year x performance % - base = bonus. I don't know rates for USA but someone who's analyst to senior associate could expect 250-375£/€ base on engagement in UK/EU. Assuming 48 weeks of 50h x eg 325 avg rate (fully collected) and a 25% performance rating you get a total comp of 195k. Whatever is above your base is your bonus. So even if your base is below market you get same total comp.
Edit there is also an element of robin hood where by sometimes people's bonus is lower to compensate for other underperforming teams. Haven't been in a bonus cycle to fully explain how it works but people don't complain massively. Think it might reduce bonus by maybe few % total
6YoE would be a Senior associate in my opinion. Comp of $250-500k
How much is he pulling as an SVP?
