This was in fall of 2015 so about a year and a half ago. Don't remember the exact offer amount but it was breathtakingly below expectations. It also took them about six months to actually produce an offer. Senior Manager is an additional level between M and D over there.

Not sure about mgr pay but it was not half at the consultant level. Also super low taxes means a lot more take home pay. Other than rent (which is cheaper than Manhattan), it is not that expensive a city to live in.
Big 4 is going to be around 50-60% at C/SC... maybe up to 70% by M? Singapore doesn't have a tax treaty with the US so you'll still have to pay US income tax on a portion of your income in addition to Singapore's income tax. Singapore's housing is actually relatively cheap (compared to Hong Kong) but everything else is more expensive so wouldn't consider it a cheap city to live in by any means. Still considering a move there as it's better off than HK from a consulting standpoint, pay-wise and opportunity-wise.

DD is small in HK. I was chatting with a partner there and didn't know it was a formal interview until he mentioned transferring. Didn't go through cause pay is 50% of current salary.
I got a secondment offer from our Singapore form two years ago that was more than a 50% pay cut. They said they "pulled strings" to get the offer as high as they did. I turned it down. As others have said, pay over there is MUCH lower and hours are often much worse

Yup. 55% to be exact. I have a top-10 MBA and was a second-year manager at the time. They made me a Senior Manager offer (that level that every firm in the network except the US has) but it was just barely more than we pay new Associates. They told me they couldn't match pay but I thought they meant a 5-10% difference. Comp is way imbalanced across the network. It's why everyone else wants to second with the US firm.
Exact same background as you. What exactly did they offer you? $80k USD? (~SGD 115)? In terms of level - isn't Senior Manager the same as Director? Or do they have M, SM and Dir? How long ago was this btw?Thanks!

Spoke with a recruiter hiring for accenture strategy and was told they pay SGD150+ for manager and SGD200+ for SM.
