To update - I did it ladies! I have to say the interviewers I had couldn’t have been nicer. Very encouraging and put me at ease when I got nervous at times. I actually got struck with pot luck, the question I got on the interview I done in leet code only a few days before. So I had an idea how to do it. Of course I did talk through all my steps and asked questions, made sure on same trail of thought process etc. lots of talking out loud lol. I did get stuck at one point remembering how I done one element of the problem, talked through my code out loud and managed to unstuck myself with some gentle help of the interviewers. Of course I thought it all went, until I realised they wanted to go through another question but we ran out of time to go through a second problem. So had some technical algorithms and data structure questions in my code of the first problem, all were fine. I had the chance to ask a few questions at the end which I did too. I’m delighted it went well as it did, only for the fact there was no time to go through a second question. Tbh I was taking my time explaining it all and thought I had loads of time. I’m hoping it’s not a deal breaker! I find out Monday if I progress to the next stage. I haven’t done a pair programming interview. Only normal code screenings and white boards in the past, so this was new to me! 😃
that's the spirit!
Yes. Review data structures. Very important to know which to use
When solving a programming problem wxplain your train of thought as you do it or even if you are not writing code and are a bit stuck explain what is going on in your head. "ok so problem is this, since we that result I can see xyz edge case to keep in mind, hesitating between a and b data structure for x reason. Dont be shy to ask about context/main goal (speed vs conserving memory space) etc
For anyone curious, I passed and got through to the next interview round! Thank you all for your helpful words of encouragement. May these comments help anyone else going through a similar process in future
Yay!!! Congratulations
You'll do it! Don't let the nervousness stop you :)
Make sure to come prepared with a few questions of your own to ask your interviewer. This will show that you're interested in the role and that you've done your research.
Make sure you are familiar with the language and tools that will be used in the interview. If you are not familiar with a language or tool, ask the interviewer for a quick demonstration on how to use it. Don't be afraid to show that you're not an expert, it's best this way instead of pretending that you know everything!
Just seeing this now. How did it go, OP? I'll be you knocked their socks off! 🤗 Please update when you get a chance!
Congratulations!!
Thank you so much 😊 one more technical interview round and a final interview with one of the managers if I get past that. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
