Any lawyers with nose piercings? I am a 2nd year (F). Had a nose piercing for years and loved it, took it out to article/practice but I miss it :(

I have a nose ring (a hoop) and have worn it since interviews/day one at my firm. It’s only been commented on once, with another associate simply asking if it was new or if I’d always had it (he interviewed me, so either it wasn’t an issue or he just never noticed it before). I’m a 3rd year, at the same firm I articled with. I like to think most people in the profession are no longer as antiquated as the career services advisors at the law schools tell us…or maybe they have just learned to keep their judgments about the bodies of others to themselves at this point.

I did the same - took mine out when I started working at a firm. When I first went in-house, I got my nose pierced again as it was a pretty casual workplace. I then moved back to a firm and kept it in. I still have it at a conservative company but I keep it small (a tiny gold tri-bead). I’ve never had anyone comment on it.

I live in NYC and recently started interviewing for positions in VA. On average, the offers are higher than the ones I’ve received in NY. I have 11 years of experience, worked for Google, AOL and a VC firm. Does tech companies in Northern VA provide higher comps on average vs NYC?

Hello, I am a junior business administrator working in advisory operations. I have been with the company for 6 months, and was employed along with 2 other colleagues. I have picked the job up really fast and am even doing some “extra curricula’s” I really love my job. However I have recently found out I am being paid the same as an apprentice on my team, I usually do at 3 x the work he does whilst also doing my Cert CII. It has really disheartened me and I feel I should be earning more money

In the beginning of my career I absconded 1 company who had 3 years bond and I worked there for 5 months. My pf account is created for that company and it has been closed with reason cessation (short service). After that I worked in 1 company for 6 years and since January I'm working in TCS. Should I mention my first company experience. So far I'm not mentioning it anywhere.
Please help me out with this

I’m a senior lawyer in the financial regulatory space in the US. Dual US and Canadian citizenship, though my whole career has been in the US. Admitted to NY bar. Interested in working in Toronto.

Currently on maternity leave from a small firm with no may leave benefits. Would love to become legal aid duty counsel to get better with life balance and mat leave benefits for kid #2. But I hear it's next to impossible to get a full time position except by starting on contract. Anyone in Toronto have any insight about becoming a family law duty counsel?

Wondering if anyone could share some comps for salary for 2nd year associates? Most helpful info would be SK/AB based but I will take anything at this point. Received an offer from the DOJ for a 2 year contract, doing work which seems more interesting/engaging than what I’m doing right now (insurance defence) - but for just over 9% less than I’m currently making, and the partner track has been outlined for me at my firm..feel like it’s not worth trading higher long term earning potential for contract + pay cut just because the work is more engaging..but on the other hand, ID is starting to bore me..thoughts/refs to anyone at DOJ would be appreciated
