Please define what you mean by "conservative". There is a big difference between a) thinking the government should play a smaller role in people's lives and b) racism, xenophobia or c) supporting particular political parties or candidates, just to give a few examples.
How are you using the word conservative? Because what is called conservative (Trumpism or MAGA) isn’t conservative in any meaningful way. “Let’s burn it all down and see what happens next…” said no conservative ever. But that’s what MAGA and Trumpism aim for. There’s no institution so important it can’t be undermined. There’s no principle so sacrosanct that it can’t be violated. There’s no social program, no matter its age or importance, that can’t be thrown out. There’s no ally we will stand by through thick and thin no matter how long the alliance and no adversary we will not appease despite every warning from history.
So if you’re conservative what do you mean? Because I consider myself more conservative than the people calling themselves conservatives. Why? Because I want to preserve the safety net. I want to stand with our allies and stand up to our adversaries. I think the gains in rights over the last 75 years are precious and should be protected and preserved. Conserving what is good and reforming that which is in need of reform is conservatism. Destroying institutions is not.

Libertarian/anarcho-capitalist right here! I don’t know that I’d adopt the term “conservative.” Though my SO says he’s a libertarian, but he’s actually conservative in my view. But our politics are generally aligned.

I am a centrist or center-right. I believe in fiscal prudence in matters of state. I don’t necessarily believe we need to eliminate x,y,z program or in downsizing the government 50+%, but I do believe in restricting the handout system and overhauling the high ed system. I don’t believe in this cult of indoctrination that’s coming from the left, nor am I a fan of the MAGA movement. The ideological pollution is so toxic that I cannot belong to any gay group, be they conservative or liberal/mainstream gay groups on social media because they all tout this stuff. Both ideologies are degenerate and do nothing to promote acceptance, and further push division amongst ourselves.
