Vitamin C in the morning, retinol at night. Leave at least 10 minutes before applying each one before the next step. It can be as simple as: AM cleanse, vitamin c, moisturise, sunscreen. PM cleanse, retinol, moisturise.
Good to know, I didn’t realize the 10 min between!
I use tretinoin- get it via the Nurx app bc it’s an Rx - and I use the Zo vitamin c.
It’s been fine I’m my skin. I will get super flaky sometimes though.
Skinceuticals vit c is the holy grail of serums. Vit c in the morning, retinol at night. If the retinol is causing flakiness, use every other night or 2 or 3 times per week until your skin gets used to it. You can use vit c on the nights you don't use retinol.
Second Ce Ferulic, lives up to the hype and worth every penny. Definitely transformed my skin.
VP nailed it. Make sure you put on SPF in the mornings after vitamin c because retinol makes your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
I use AlphaRet by SkinBetter and IS Clincsl Pro-Heal serum. They are definitely on the more expensive side but I much rather use medical grade skin care.
Echoing that VP nailed the skincare routine. I like La Roche Posay for all products!
Here is a good vegan vitamin c with HA: Artistry Skin Nutrition™ Vitamin C + HA3 Daily Serum https://amwy.me/2PYu4YUTw and a good retinol brand product: Artistry™ Intensive Skincare Anti-Wrinkle Firming Serum https://amwy.me/Ft3-Pkw9a

From a different question but the same answer applies. Also I would recommend this brand for POC since their esthetician who makes videos on their Instagram is WOC and the regularly feature WOC.

I have brown skin prone to hormonal acne. I have used Shani Darden, Biossance, Drunk Elephant, and Sunday Riley. SD is my current favorite and the rest are ranked in the order I wrote them.
Vitamin C - Herbivore Nova, Origins, Caudalie, Vichy, Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, Youth to the People.
I love the 1st 3, but Caudalie is a bit pricey and not enough bang for the buck to use everyday. Origins is the most affordable and very lightweight, and Herbivore truly brightens my skin after 2-3 uses, I think it's the turmeric in additionto the high Vitamin-C.
Oh and I've been following 3-day Skin Cycling routine for the past 3 weeks. Absolutely love how my skin looks and feels now
I went with BHA vs Retinol based on my skincare needs, good to do a little research on the differences between BHA, AHA and retinol if you haven’t already.
For retinol I would get A313 you can get it at Walmart or Amazon but it’s a great way to start. For vitamin C Dr Dennis Gross makes an incredible serum with lactic acid.
Derm says ROC for retinol
