I retired last spring and ended up getting a part time teaching job. I, too, was worried about how I was going to entertain myself. Since I have retired, I have been Swedish death cleaning my house, knitting, reading, playing tennis, and not going to the gym as often as I ought. I’m super glad I have the part time job and I’m glad that I have a yard that demands attention. I would strongly suggest that you take up something new—knitting, pickleball, tennis, yoga—something that introduces you to new people and makes your brain work a little.

I know if I was retired I would take a lot more time on my hobbies! One thing that can help is setting a goal like I will read x amount of books this year .
I have done a lot of that too! It counts! I usually listen to audio books while I fall asleep and sometimes when I have a free night.
