Any tips on ramping up on tone and voice for writers?

I’m here to seek some guidance over a doubt of mine. I am joining a new company and they wants me to join on 21st November . But I have a notice period of 30 days which I’m supposed to serve in my current company.

I’m looking for some tips and ways to negotiate with the new company for granting me a new joining date or to buy me out of notice period and thereafter join in for the new job.

I went from making $70k the last 7 years to now started a new job a month ago making $130k plus $10k bonus every year, and $60k in RSUs. I have $70k in my 401k and around $50k in savings. Want to get out of the Silicon Valley which has been home my whole life and buy in TX or AZ a ~$400k house. So, you’ve reached the stage of your career where you care more about cashing a fat paycheck than making “creative ads”. You’d rather have the resources and free time to fulfill your creative itch outside of work than try to sell the next big idea to an 28 year old marketing manager with an annual budget of 150k. How do you make the absolute most money as a copywriter while still working a 9-5? Asking for... a... friend?

What about using 3 one-word sentences as a slogan? I feel like it’s super played out, but I get suggestions for it all the time. Can’t we do better than mashing together words from the crestive brief?

I think it’s so crazy that once you sign-full time as a CW, you can’t freelance as well. Feels like there’s so many opportunities out there for freelance roles but the full-time gig steals us from them ☹️

Jumping off a related topic: am I delusional to not care about jr/int/sr level titles? I've been a "copywriter" since the day I started and steadily gained responsibility, autonomy, and money. Happy with career progression, always getting juicier assignments, work directly with ECDs/CCOs... am I missing something crucial? Is my case an anomaly? Or is it okay not to push for a title upgrade?

When non-ad ppl ask you what do you do? In terms of title; do you tell them “copywriter”? Or immediately assume they dont know and might confuse it with copyright infringement, and just end up telling them that you’re a writer or a creative director, and skip the hassle

Pivoting from copywriting to _____? Interested to hear from copywriters who are either considering or have already transitioned into a totally different or somewhat similar creative role.

If you are approached for copy position with a company called LadyBoss... RUN! I don’t know racket they’re running but they set up a video conf with a bunch of copywriters interviewing simultaneously.

Are puns always bad? I like them as cheat codes for making boring things slightly more entertaining. I don’t want to spend hours thinking for a line for a social post we are just doing to fill up a content calendar

Working with a Junior AD who’s too opinionated & doesn’t respond to my feedback well. He’ll just show ideas that I’ve already debunked/scripts that aren’t very good, which makes me look bad. Advice?
