Any work with managers without college degrees? I am hesitant to work for one because they get insecure when I come with a college degree I feel like and try to keep you down

I have in the past. Didn’t seem to be an issue.

Depending on the job function and the person. My very first boss didn't have a college degree. Overall, he was a competent manager, supervising two to three dozen subordinates, most of whom had far more education than he did, including two senior engineers with Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) licenses. The person with PE lacked emotional intelligence and annoyed just about everyone on the team, while the person with SE didn't know how to train or divert his work and was always buried under rolls of blueprints. The Manager without a college degree was respected by most of the team. He kept diplomacy and resolved issues between passive-aggressive subordinates. He kept tabs on all project schedules and kept the house in order. Had the PE been the manager, he would just yell and scream at his coworkers if there was a single hiccup in a project. Likewise, we would have missed at least half of the project deadlines had the SE been in charge of the team.

The one manager I had that did not have a college degree was actually one of the best managers I had. She was very intelligent and had superb people skills. Thanks to her mentorship, I am a Manager and getting propped up for another promotion

Consider that they had to be outstanding, not just check the degree box.

So the degree makes you better at their job than they are? Experience trumps everything

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Black men, best barbershops located in the loop?

Are there any well-off suburbs around Chicago where there's a significant amount of black or mixed race people? Significant meaning 40-50%+. I've seen a lot of nice black suburbs in southern and eastern cities but less in the midwest. In an interracial relationship and want to get an idea if there are any suburbs where our kids would feel represented or if we'll need to move down south for that.

Found a random engagement ring.

Hi all, so I found a platinum ring (which I assumed it's an engagement ring as it has dates and initials engraved on top.) And a Divvy tag (I have no idea what it was until I googled it. Apparently it's a bike sharing service in Chicago) in a briefcase I ordered online. I was thinking of returning the item back to the store but that wouldn't help the person who lost the ring. Attached is a picture of them.

What should I do now?

How do people afford to buy $1M houses in Chicago? Surely not everyone buying them is rich (which is somewhat of a subjective term). My wife and I are 30 and have a combined income of almost $300k and trying to buy something that expensive seems asinine yet people do it. Am I missing something?
