Need some advice. Started a few months ago a new job through internal transfer as a lead role in a bank for $350TC. Amazon Web Services keeps messaging me daily for a Principal role and I’m not really in the job market but I think I’ll go through the interview process. I was thinking of demanding the following but I’m not sure how realistic for a remote principle role this is
Base: $240k
Cash Bonus: $110k
Signing Bonus: $150k
RSU: 9,100 shares ($1m PV) in (50/20/15/15)
Does this seem possible?

Not sure what's the justification of low salaries with the current cost of living in Toronto...
Does anyone has insights on why is this the case and more importantly what do you see is the possible future?
Is everyone going to be driven to unaffordability / declining purchasing power?
Fwiw, Meta, Twitter & SFDC pay appx US salaries. But McK1, I agree on your comment on Google, esp the Waterloo jobs..
12 YoE and 250K? WTF is going on in the market?
Toronto needs a massive revamp in comp asap.
Does nobody making these decisions (and the people accepting these low ass salaires) realise:
1) How expensive everything is?
2) Talent leakage to the US? Hello!
Not saying I'm making these numbers either hit it shouldn't be too far fetched
Yeah the math doesn't add up here. I've seen Toronto salaries outside of MBB and I'm like how is this even sustainable / reasonable. Employees are being abused in the name of 'Canada' - what's the point getting paid peanuts and getting taxed 50% on it.
No wonder everyone's racing towards insolvency / massive debts.
Increase your expectations bud!
