Anyone else use platforms like Upwork and find the worst people on there? How do you keep your confidence up when you feel like you are always being scammed by clients wanting to waste your time and underpay you?

I use Upwork to supplement my income. Had someone commission an SEO guide for 2500 words, looked at it and it was clearly more. I called the manager out and he left a borderline career-ending review which will not get taken down.

Journalism is the best job in the world but I feel like people are less likely to take my work seriously because I am female. So it's like they automatically think the only things I would be good at writing about are fluffy little human interest stories. I'm just a reporter like everyone else. Is there some way I can tell my supervisor that yes, I do like those stories, but I like being a serious reporter even more?
