Anyone else’s billable year end November 30th? It’s taking every ounce of me to lock in and try to hit my billable requirement before then. What’s everyones hours looking like?? 👀

Mine is. I don’t have a requirement but this year is the lowest I’ve ever had since I started billing hours in 2015. Which was actually my goal so I’m probably a bit different than anyone else…

I'm also in the middle of wrapping up the year, and the billable push has been intense. I'm maintaining my workload while actively exploring new legal opportunities in Oman, so balancing both has definitely added pressure.

Curious how others are managing their hours and the year-end workload.

I hit target in late September and am at such an absurd number I'm not even going to say it.

The work is nonstop and there's not enough Adderall in the world to keep me going much longer. Fml.

Done and dusted with about 2 hours over. Moving on to a new year after the holiday

How close are you?

If I was 35 hours short I would do everything I could to get the bonus including skipping Thanksgiving regardless of class year (assuming Biglaw)

Yes, November 30 fiscal year end. I hit my hours in September but only because I worked myself into the ground this year.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

I’m junior to two Legal Counsel (I work in-house) who are passive aggressive towards each other. They don’t attend each other’s meetings and leave each other out of email CC’s. It’s pretty clear this is done on purpose as one of them has bitched to me about the other.

I am lead counsel on a case - we’re suing 3 businesses and my supervisor is a named incorporator of one of the businesses although he is not an officer. He is asking me to bring the file and meet with him about the progress of the case.
