Anyone familiar with Securian Financial (formerly Minnesota Life) as a 401k provider? A friend asked me about their platform and wanted my opinion. I’ve never used them. ??

They are my BD, so I can probably dig up whatever you’re looking for. Anything specific I can help you find?

What kind of investment options are available within the plan? Do they offer MF & ETF’s? Do they offer any type of digital retirement guidance?

At 401k ‘education’ meetings, presenters can only provide general education and guidance, not advice. That goes for FAs, too, since the plan sponsor is the client, not the participant, and the result of any advice legally falls on the plan sponsor. The only way participant advice can be given is under separate provision in your written agreements with the plan sponsor. Then, it’s typically only the FA that provides advice, not the recordkeeper’s education presenters. The FA would have to fulfill all suitability requirements just as if the participant was an individual client.

it's solid. t Rowe had a great one for startups too.

Everyone has a different perspective on this but would love to hear yours. Someone has debt ranging say 4-5% interest rates. Do you attack debt more then investing to move towards a debt free life or do you go after investments since they return historically above that then paying down closer towards retirement. I know the latter looks better on paper but what about the psychological factors of being debt free and the guaranteed return on interest savings.
