What careers pay the best in the Uk?
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

There are way too many variables in such a move for you to be able to get any meaningful answer. I've moved my family half way across the country twice, exact same cities, and it was quite a bit more expensive the second time, primarily due to having more stuff, and needing more help.
Yes, I realize that. Thanks! Mainly looking for what hiring companies budget for it.
That's also highly variable, it depends on the company and the position. Execs will not have to spend a dime or lift a finger, whereas others won't be offered relocation. I personally got a flat amount which didn't quite cover everything, but it was a big step in terms of my career, so that alone wasn't a big enough reason to turn down the position.
Recently got an entry level role with a FAANG and was given an $8k check essentially to cover the cost of relocation.
At Deloitte we do not pay Relocation for new hires like our policy for transferees that we ask to move. However the businesses have a little discretion in terms of a small lump sum or maybe a signing bonus
I got $25k last year to move from the pacific coast to Midwest.
