EY Deloitte PwC people - would you leave your current employer for a 15%-25% total comp difference? This translates to a 25-45k difference per annum, largely driven by bonus at the new firm (20-40%), much smaller than my current employer. Doesn’t feel like a great exit opportunity - currently at big 4 this would be moving to a niche consulting company

From my chats with interviewers as well with alums, they are trying to increase compassionate MT and are trying to implement new and rapid changes to fix culture. In prep for on boarding, I was told they are expanding their digital strategy and product offerings so most of the roles for upcoming MT cohort will be for strat and not sales such as customer service or AP/AR. What is your comp and bonus for how many YOE?
I interviewed for them a while back. They’re very selective of people for the culture. I personally didn’t jive with the culture — it felt very repressive. Also the whole operating model of the company just made me think that the family who owns MMC is paranoid. They keep leadership positions in rotation, presumably to keep people from becoming complacent and to keep people on edge. It’s almost like if the company didn’t want to keep its employees; readily be able to fire people.
With that said, they do offer a very attractive comp package. I just didn’t feel confident that I’d enjoy working there long term.
But to be transparent, I also have a background in healthcare, very different than MMC
My buddy was in that program and had only bad things to say. Essentially, they promise a lot of benefits such as full tuition reimbursement, fast track to management, etc but they will cull down the hiring class and fire as many people as they can so they will never end up paying those expensive perks.
This is very helpful! Thank you for the insight. How long did your friend end up staying / do you know if they regretted the decision to take the job in the first place?
I interviewed there and a friend worked there.
When I asked each interviewer "how's the culture there?", They all flat out said it was bad. Extremely competitive, 0 cooperation and 0 collaboration; every person is out to further themselves at the expense of anyone else.
(Hilariously, they have a call center manned by ivy league graduates. I watched as people with Harvard degrees had to answer all emails within 10 minutes or get a ding on their scorecard lmao. Making 80-90k a year to answer phones)
My buddy who worked there said it wasn't so bad because he got a lot of opportunities and learned a ton but admitted lost people would hate it there. He did leave after only 5 years.
Thank you for the reply! This is a lot to think about
Just had a recruiter reach out me for that company. What have you heard?
Hi. I am in the process of interviewing at McMaster carr for the Mgt Development program. Would you mind sharing what your offer was and your YOE?
