Anyone have success applying for roles that are a good fit except the level is too junior, but during/after interviewing, you convince the hiring manager to increase the title and salary?

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Having a baby and looking for consulting exit opps. I’ve been in strategy consulting for two years and recently promoted to manager. All projects were in tech or LS.
