Rising Star
Nah no homeless, close to the gayborhood building is pretty solid overall have friends there
Rising Star
I’m gay af, if anything I’m an ally to the str8s here 😂
I just moved away from that area due to the increasing number of homeless individuals that are avid drug users. I am someone that prefers a walkable neighborhood, so safety is important to me.
With the rise in drug use in the area, we frequently say cars broken into the area (even in gated garages) and as a female as I was often followed and harassed when taking morning walks.
I won’t complain without offering up other suggestions as someone who also moved sight unseen. Bishop Arts is just as lively, but feels more safe. Anywhere in The Village is also great and it has a ton of community restaurants, bars, and stores.
Turtle Creek is nice and connected to the Katy Trail but it isn’t as walkable as other neighborhoods for every day things (local stores, boutiques, bars, restaurants, etc.) you’ll definitely use a car more in that area.
Also take a look at the State Thomas area. It’s near the trail and has a better walkability score.
Glad I could help! Welcome to Dallas!!
