I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

Look at L4 and L5 SWE bands on levels, that’s approximately what you should be targeting/getting.

5 is generally up to 12 years “in role”, meaning direct experience in the role. 6 is 12-16. However, there have been cases of people getting fast promotions due to performance, and lifers at L5 (I know one who has been in role for 22 years).
Mid 200s for L5 (higher end of 200s for places like NYC and Bay Area) and mid 300s for L6
I was hired in at L5 with 7 YOE and promoted to 6 with 10 YOE. I’d say that’s relatively standard, maybe a tiny bit fast
