What inspired you to join this industry?
Might be guilty of this time to time

Mindtree culture is detoriating day by day . No clarity on hike and appraisal even though mail have been sent regarding this since Dec 2021 . Disgusting HR head practice who joined from CTS . How come they don't abide by what they communicate and keep silence without any update for delay .
Shameful . Feeling Disappointed. Has joined this company 11 months back with hopes for longer and fruitful association but will resign soon . Pathetic company Mindtree

I used to work in Compensation Operations at Google. They will provide you with the lowest possible offer that fits within their parameters of pay parity in their bands. If you want the best package, be up front with their expectations and see what happens. Your best negotiating levers are on sign-on bonus and RSUs. (Salary is only marginally negotiable, and the higher your starting salary, the lower your salary increases in the future). If you say nothing now, you'll start the negotiating dance at a significant disadvantage

How many rounds of negotiation does it typically take?
Why do you expect Google to give their best package? Always negotiate equity and sign on.
I have no idea because I don’t know what your current comp or level is and what Google is giving you
You'll most probably get the 25% above your current salary. But always ask for more.
Easiest is negotiating on RSU's. They usually give a good number, but if it is closer to what you already get from your current employer, ask for more.
Tell them that you're flexible on where the increase goes, sign on bonus or RSU's, but you'll prefer RSU's. Always ask. Never hurt anyone.
We give the worst opening offers hoping that the name gets you to come in cheaper. Research the bands and the locality adjustments. Equity has the most room for negotiation.

G5 - if your competing offer is also lower than your expectations, would you use current salary to negotiate?
Whats your current salary, your ideal/expected salary, and the role? Then we can provide more useful advice
Hmmm probably looking at an L6, and a TC of 300k. What role is it for at G?
Always negotiate. Even with Google.
For posterity, I just received the offer detail from Google and it was even lower than my current salary. I didn’t share my comp expectation with the recruiter before I initiated the interview (since that’s what some people on the internet recommends). I have got to work hard to negotiate.
How many rounds of negotiations did you have to go through ?
