Anyone living in Chattanooga,TN. My family member got internship in the area and looking for 6 months accomodation. They dont have car and will either use public transportation or Uber to get to work. Any good apartments communities in downtown area or outside city in suburbs they can look for. Safety and closeness to restaurants/ food places are priority. Not much into pubs or entertainment.

Will be in the market for a car in a month or so - narrowed down to Mazda CX 50 Turbo but the BMW X3 is only around $5k more compared to the Mazda Turbo trim I liked. Torn between these 2, would really appreciate any advice/insight in making this decision in regards to longterm ownership, rate of depreciation and maintenance.

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

My mother-in-law says he’s worked on things, but it’s been 10 years of this and I’m not sure I want such behavior around my wife and our kids since we’re trying to conceive soon (cont).

Hi all! I need some advice. I came in at a lower level than I wanted and turns out, I did a shitty deal at negotiating. I’m up for a promotion (title but not salary bc of COVID) - when salary increases are a thing, how much should I negotiate for? Like percentage wise, with the fact that I’m about 7-10K underpaid compared to other people with the current title?

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration." What would you do here?

Are there any fundamental differences between a salary negotiation during the start (applying for the job) vs. Salary negotiation during a performance review (you’ve been employed for x time and looking for a raise). I’m in the latter and wondering if there are any maneuvers that are different I should be doing.

de Blaiso says we’re on track to hit orange zone of restrictions post Thanksgiving which means no more indoor dining among other things.

The metric they are using is % positivity rate.

My question is this - is this a fair metric and if not what is a better metric to compare if it’s getting worse and we need social controls?

I only got tested when I traveled out of state for wedding and thought I was at a high(er) risk for exposure. Tested positive but I was already expecting that. (Contd)
