So I’m that weirdo who loves case studies. For me it’s the number of work day hours I have to sneak away and then make up that kills my willingness to remain in consideration.
I wish I knew. I’m a grade A bs artist and I always just wing it.
I just went through it all. Its not as intense as it looks. Slalom people are amazing. Do it
Dassit??
Count yourself blessed that it’s only 1 case, friend.
I don’t see the value of asking career consultants to continue to do case studies if they’ve been doing the same type of work for years. My biggest issue is that I don’t like having to have the same convo with 3 people for an hour. I’d rather do a 1-hr panel with all three. Same result, less time!

As soon as I find out there’s a case I cancel
Have never had a case. Maybe they don’t do them for cloud?

Yeah I told them the role isn’t a good fit and let’s not waste anyone time - massaged language of course

Negotiate down the number of interviews

Just came over from Deloitte. The case study is a joke - mine was literally “explain how you would set up a project, what kind of milestones/deliverables”. It was very conversational if you know what you’re talking about.

I’m in delivery leadership, consultant level
I had a seven rounder recently 😅😅
I did!
Tell them that. Multi round interviews will not go away unless there is enough candidate pushback.

Lol I have 3 behavioral, 2 technical, and 1 case for the role I’m currently interviewing for at another firm. You’re lucky
Google!
That’s less than Deloitte and you work at Deloitte
Are you sure every single practitioner at the firm had the same number of interviews?

Who’s going to hire you with less interviews than that? Genuinely curious. That’s the norm?
Sometimes we should question whether the norm is the most effective/efficient way of doing something.. Does it truly take three people + case + leader to determine if someone can get the job done?
OP what position here at slalom?
Didn’t do a case and don’t give them either. This is highly market/practice dependent
This is a strange post. Slalom’s 5 interview process sounds pretty reasonable for a lateral hire. It’s not like some of the crazy take home case plus 10 interviews I hear about in tech.
Pretty sure 4 interviews (mix of case & behavioral) is standard at most consulting firms for on campus recruiting. I’d expect the bar to be higher for experienced hires given that the firm is taking more risk and filling a more niche role vs basically hiring for potential on campus.
Don’t assume the 3 behavioral are all the same. At my firm each behavioral interviewer is evaluating different things.
