I received an offer from a company I met at a career fair. The salary was less than my other two offers but the location was where I wanted to be. Tried to negotiate, & they said they couldn’t negotiate higher. So I declined. I reached back out to the recruiter I met at the career fair and she said “ I thought an offer was made to you?” Told her I was interested in exploring other options. No response. Sent a follow up email w/no response. Is she ignoring me on purpose? I really like the company

I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

I have now been asked to design an architecture for an upcoming project, and document it all. Nothing at this company has been well documented before. Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.
