Rising Star
Nope.

Reverse raises tho
No, they’re not a thing in advertising. Barely even a thing in the US at large.
Chief
No. I’ve worked at only one independent agency that dared to try it as a retention tactic during the COVID era when it was an employee’s market and talent was jumping everywhere for huge offers, but they turned tail and abandoned it without a word after one year like it never happened.
Of course not.
I got one at my first agency instead of a promo …Otherwise only ever got an increase when I got a promo. Brand side we get merit increases every year automatically
They are not a thing in any industry, anywhere at this point.
The only a thing for salary raises is good / booming economy.
Not true
This is why people bounce around as much as they can in this industry. Only way to get a good raise or any raise.
I was told as a “top performer” I’d only get 3% and “they wished they could give me more.” 🙄Omnicom agency.
I had them when I was with WPP (~4 years ago). Currently with Omnicom and I was essentially laughed at when I asked that after my first year at the company 🙃
Pro
We get them but theyre more like "1/10 of the cost of living increase" raises
Been in advertising since 2009. It was a standard thing till about 2012, and then they scraped it saying it could no longer be afforded to give inflationary salary raises (which were below country inflation anyway)
Never had it at any other company since.
