Are you happy at your job, or do you feel like you're wasting your life? A little melancholy, I suppose, but it's something that's been on my mind for a while now. The thing is, I have no idea what to do about these feelings. Just hoping I'm not alone.

I don’t feel like I’m wasting my life - but it’s time to look at the next chapter. This administration has created terrible morale and in my line of work - that’s the one thing that keeps you going. It’s not the same anymore and I can’t be effective without a mission I believe that benefits people.

If you feel wasting your time, you need to look for other opportunities unless you have no choices around you.

Life is too short not to be happy at work! Tender your resignation and hit the job seeker trail. It might be rough financially for a few months but you will eventually find something you like.

Before I lost my job in June, I was pretty burned out. I had been there for 6 years and even though I was getting raises, they still wouldn't let me have any more responsibility. The micromanagement was suffocating me! It had me questioning whether my career choice was the right one. The good news is that now that I've been away from that toxic work environment for 2 months I'm feeling a lot more confident and positive. I've come to see that the problem was not that I no longer liked my professional: it was that I had outgrown that particular employer. It's normal to question your life choices, but keep in mind that the problem may not be as bad as you think. Perhaps you just need a change of scenery.

I feel like this every time I clock in

I kind of understand that. I like my job but I don't like my pay. I keep waiting for that magic raise but don't thinks it's coming. That or a better position to open up. But I'm wasting the degree I just finished. Someone told me I was comfortable and I realized that's true. Maybe you are too and maybe its time to get uncomfortable

😉 it’s a difference in a job and a career most people that have there career job which u choose your career u may get physically or even a little mentally tired but when I rest a regroup the career u have love for what u do I want both love my career my job u know your chosen career this is what your benefits r🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 earning your self worth professionally u agree 🔑

Sitting in the airport in Nashville. Whole lotta drinking going on. This town, like so many others can get raucous. Anyways, it’s late (10:30 flight) and I go to the coffee counter and ask for a black coffee, no room for cream. It’s like a secret handshake. Yes…I am, Said with just a small vague smile. No charge. Have a good night she says. I will, thanks. Grateful for one more day into this 2,948 day, 13 hour, 33 minute journey.

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Are ppl worried about being on the bench esp when there aren’t a lot of projects in the pipeline? New hire here about to be up for staffing for the first time and sentiment at my firm seems to be worried/fearful about being unstaffed. Is it actually worrisome to be on the bench in this environment or is this just a product of highly ambitious over achievers worrying about not being constantly utilized?
