Am I doing a mistake? Going from PwC to Accenture for $45K more (113 Vs 158), and a role that’s better aligned with what I was doing before joining & what I want to be doing? I joined PwC for the experience and the exit opportunity it can provide me in the future, but it’s hard not to accept this role from Accenture! Decision need to be made by end of this week….

Quarantine is a great excuse to send a quick note to your old connects and ask them how they are doing. Share something personal about yourself, are you quarantining with family out of state? do you love it? Hate it? End it with something you & the contact shared together. Did they take you out to lunch at a great spot? Maybe say you miss the food there, Idk. The possibilities are endless. Try to genuinely get to know the person and keep job referrals off your mind for 2 secs. Not trying to be mean but people can smell desperation. Good luck!
That’s my goal- I want to get to know then and build a good relationship w them first and foremost. I will definitely keep your points in mind, thanks for the tips!
ask them about what their job. Has COVID changed anything? What are you seeing in the markets? Where do they think we’ll go from here? etc. It’s a good way to talk about the role you’re interested in and show that you’re interested without flat-out asking if they’re hiring.
That’s what I’ve been doing-and have been getting great responses. I’ll probably incorporate some questions in regards to themselves as people too so like top post said so it’ll be easier to follow up and also be able to develop a good relationship in general
