Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Never trust what HR says, they're just trying to get you to take the role. I'd also try to negotiate your pay so that you're economically indifferent
Additionally, any promises that are made to you, you should make sure you get in writing (preferably when you get your written offer)
Agreed, you have more leverage than you understand as the candidate. The applicant pool has been so small and it’s been difficult to attract talent, hold their feet over the fire and get some more money. Otherwise, I would walk. There are plenty of companies and roles that will offer exposure, money, and potentially flexibility. Don’t settle!
Can you negotiate to at least meet your current salary? And did HR tell you that In writing?
Thanks all. HR called back and managed to give a little bump to the initial offer.
My concern remains if this is a good transition role (to gain more cross products, functional insights and experiences) to set me up for future opportunities?
Hi there! Indeed ! That’s exactly what I’ve been doing (looking at the requirements of my ideal next role and built it from there) I’ve also been looking up on people who’re in my aspired role and check out their previous route that got them to where they are. Being said that it’s quite difficult to keep your heads up and eyes on the prize after job hunting for a few months.
Would love to connect and exchange notes :).
Market actualisation will always mean a pay cut to go to London
Are you in the US now? I moved from US to UK and salaries are indeed lower across the board so I took a pay cut to come here but well worth it from several aspects work and personal.
Would highly recommend it generally. Depends on if you feel that 11-year network has more room to grow and expand or it feels fairly stale. I’ve found that a lot of people in your built network are also leaping around so they don’t all become totally useless and your network will help you build into a new zone as well. So don’t stay for connections; you’ll make new ones and the existing ones are still useful!
