I often feel like I am absorbing pressure from both sides—managing expectations from above while trying to protect the team below. It can be isolating.
Do you have others at your job level that you can talk to about it? I’m lucky enough that when the pressure is too much I have others I can go to for advice or just a chat
Yep. I know this feeling all too well. I wish there was a solution, but it is extremely difficult as one person alone. What I do know is that in order to continue to lead, you have to put yourself first. Take the time off when you need it, set boundaries (don't consistently stay late or answer after-hour calls/emails), and find something outside of your career that fulfills you. I recently got into impasto painting and I'm no artist, but it's quite the stress reliever.
Setting boundaries is so important! I really love the idea of taking up a creative hobby to relax
Absolutely. Being the bridge often means you get walked on from both sides. Support for leads is just as essential as support for the team
Unfortunately the upper management don’t think about the support for the leads..
